Ty's Individual Project

 Ty Jepson's Blog

#1. Personal Stuff

Hi, my name is Tyler Jepson ( but I like to be called Ty) and I am part of the team of students that helped build your house. Some of my hobbies include sports such as football and basketball, and hanging out with my friends. I try to get along with everyone when I work with people and lastly I try to add a little humor to the group.

#2 . Lessons Learned

It's easy to say that you learn lessons in school, but it is much harder to identify them, explain them, and locate where they came from. That being said I can definitely say that I've learned a few lessons in Geometry and Construction. One of those lessons is probably the fact that teamwork can really come in handy sometimes. For example, on some of the quarter projects we had to do, or even the homework packets in class, what I might not have been able to do was picked up by my teammates. They earned me points that I otherwise wouldn't have got. Another lesson I learned in this class is that in order to achieve what I want, I'm going to have to put forth my best work. To get a good grade in this class the teachers expect nothing but your best work. However, those are just life lessons. I also learned some very practical lessons in this class. For example, I learned how to properly use many different tools, such as a hammer, drill, screw driver, and saw effectively. I learned to how to construct a wall, build some stairs and even wire some electricity.

#3. What If...

The next question revolves around what I would say to you guys if i saw you guys in 10 years or so. The first thing I would ask you is if you were still living in the same house that we built for you. And right after that, possibly without waiting, if the house was still standing. If the answer to both is yes then I might ask how are you doing, if u have any kids and if you guys still have the same jobs. Hopefully all is good and I can ask about the bathroom tile, which is the last thing I did on the house. I also put a lot of effort into the room so I'll probably ask about that. However I do realize that you're supposed to get a new roof every 10-15 years so you might have gotten a new roof by the time I see you again.
